With one month to the MTN Kampala marathon 2018, MTN has announced a new and better route for runners. MTN promises that the new route has a lot more security for marathoners against reckless road users. The MTN Kampala marathon is a social responsibility initiative of the MTN Foundation in partnership with Huawei, New Vision, Stanbic Bank, Spedag Interfreight Uganda Limited and Rwenzori Mineral water. MTN Uganda through its Corporate Social Responsibility arm, the MTN Foundation has donated Shs. Ugx 41,000,000 million towards the Kasese floods victims. This money will be used to buy non-food relief items to support the families that have been displaced. The devastating floods ensued after River Nyamwamba burst its banks, following the heavy rains that hit the Rwenzori Mountain ranges. Over 24,760 households with approximately 173,320 people were affected by the flash floods....

As of 23rd of December 2014, Orange Uganda now Africell sent out messages to it’s customers informing them that they are now officially Africell. They prompted customers to check out their new domain africell.ug which unfortunately is still under construction. They further went ahead to change the logo on the orange.ug website to the Africell logo. 2014 was generally not a good year for Africell. Uganda’s first local cloud service provider, Hamilton Cloud Services (HCS), a subsidiary of Hamilton Telecom, has finalised an agreement to colocate their servers i n Raxio Data Centre’s state-of-the-art, always-on data centre at the Kampala Industrial and Business Park, Naman ve. Raxio announced its plans to construct Uganda’s first tier 3, carrier-neutral and cloud-neutral data centre in July 2018. Since the announcement, Raxio has completed feasibility studies, land acquisition and design works and is now in the process of finalizing earthworks, contractor procurements and the relevant regulatory approvals....
