TuneIn Radio doesn’t really need an introduction for anyone that’s been in the internet space over the past decade or so. While Spotify and Apple Music rule the jungle when it comes to music and content streaming, TuneIn has almost become synonymous with internet radio.
This platform gives you access to tons of radio stations from all over the globe. To not become overwhelming, the app asks for your location upon signing up. It then uses this to filter out your local and regional radio stations.
TuneIn’s catalog is pretty extensive and hosts almost all popular radio stations in Kenya, including a bunch of internet-only stations that don’t have an FM frequency. Perhaps the biggest selling point for this one is that it also gives you access to the thousands of radio stations from other regions with relative ease.
However, this is a paid service and you will need to part with some of your hard-earned money to enjoy the premium services. There are also tons of geo-restricted stations so your mileage on international stations might vary.

Radio Garden
Perhaps one of the most fun services on the internet today, Radio Garden adds a nice little twist to how you find and discover internet radio stations. It does this by giving you the globe as the tuning knob.
Simply clock on anywhere on the globe and it’ll tune in to a radio station from that region and also give you a list of available stations for you to choose from. It also asks for access to your location and uses this to give you a list of radio stations from your specific region.
Like TuneIn, you can explore and listen to any radio station from any region across the globe, provided they have an active stream.
Kenya Moja
Kenya Moja has, for a while now, been a one-stop shop for all your Kenyan media. This platform hosts live streams for all popular TV stations in the country, quick links to all popular newspapers and blogs, and live streams for radio stations.

This platform that prides itself in being the largest web portal in Kenya has since expanded to provide access to opportunities and jobs but has still retained a lot of the original sauce.
With over 21 Radio stations , you have instant access to the most popular radios in Kenya and with more stations popping up frequently, it is sad to see the list remaining a little stagnant over the years. Still, one would argue that this offers users a more national outlook without the clutter of the smaller stations.
Radio.or.ke
Radio.or.ke offers users access to all major Kenyan radio stations through the internet. At the time of writing, there were 43 stations listed on the platform.
The platform is neatly laid out and is relatively easy to use. You simply click on a radio icon and listen to the live stream from your favorite station at home or in the office. It is simple and straightforward and is 100% free.
Kenya FM Buffer
Another up-and-coming platform that seeks to consolidate all the local radio stations into a single database is Kenya FM Buffer. At the time of writing, this platform had indexed close to 60 unique stations from various regions across the nation.
This is a pretty elaborate list and for a small team, this is an impressive fete. We can only hope to see them continue maintaining this platform.
