Facebook unveiled a whole new news feed on Thursday morning and the revamp comes with a host of fresh features. Among the chief advantages: bigger images, multiple feeds for different interests and a more consistent user experience across mobile devices. Facebook continues to push the boundaries of new media, simplistic design and sharing with its new interface. Facebook co-founder and CEO Mark Zuckerberg is quoted by Mashable as saying during the press event that “The news feed is one of the most important things we’ve built,” adding that the new Newsfeed is “the most personalized newspaper,”....

Facebook has today opened up internet.org, its platform that provides basic information-orientated services for free in developing countries in Asia, Africa and Latin America. Facebook will now allow developers to create apps on the platform which will be available free of charge through partner mobile networks where the platform has been launched. Popular RSS feed reader, Feedly has been attacked with distributed denial of service attack (DDoS) as of this morning by unknown hackers who are claiming a ransom in the form of money before they stop their actions, the company has reported on their blog ; “ Criminals are attacking feedly with a distributed denial of service attack (DDoS). The attacker is trying to extort us money to make it stop. We refused to give in and are working with our network providers to mitigate the attack as best as we can....

Google just announced the third generation of its Pixel-branded smartphone, the Google Pixel 3 . The new devices stay true to the design cues from previous Pixel phone releases. Like previous years, Google has launched two versions of the new phone: the regular-size Pixel 3 and the larger Pixel 3 XL. The two devices both have new glass backs, unlike the previous devices’ aluminium/glass-window design. They have bigger displays, better cameras, and updated processors....

Rich Communication Service (RCS) which is the spiritual successor to SMS is here with us. Over the past few months, we’ve seen Google enable Chat features in more and more regions via its Google Messages app on Android. As this feature rolls out to more and more users , there has always been a looming issue: the lack of end-to-end encryption. This comes at a time when Mobile is quickly becoming the new normal for YouTube, and it’s starting to pay off: 40 percent of all of the service’s video views in the U.S. are now coming from mobile devices.
