TECNO recently released the Camon 19 series in Nigeria. This series features three smartphones; the TECNO Camon 19, TECNO Camon 19 Pro, and the Camon 19 Pro 5G. The Camon 19 Pro and Pro 5G models are the premium devices of this series.

While both smartphones are packed with similar premium specs and features, they’ve also got their differences, and in this article, we will be taking a look at these differences and in the end, help you choose the right one for you.

TECNO Camon 19 Pro vs Camon 19 Pro 5G: Specs

Design and Display

Both smartphones share the same box-like design and build quality. They also come with a similar camera setup design at the rear. Furthermore, they both feature a 6.8-inch IPS LCD display, with a resolution of 1080 x 2460 pixels. Also, the displays on both smartphones have 120Hz refresh rates. There is basically no difference between both devices in the display area.

Chipset

The Camon 19 Pro 5G comes with the Mediatek Dimensity 810 chipset, with a 6nm processor, while the Camon 19 Pro comes with a Mediatek Helio G96 (12nm) processor. And according to nanoreviews , the Mediatek Dimensity 810 chipset on the Camon 19 Pro 5G is the faster and better processor.

Camera

Let’s begin with the front-facing cameras on both devices. On the Camon 10 Pro, what you get is a 32-megapixel single selfie camera, while the Camon 19 Pro 5G comes with a 16-megapixel front-facing camera sensor.

For the rear, both smartphones feature a 64-megapixel main sensor and a 2-megapixel depth sensor. The Camon 19 Pro, however, features an extra 50-megapixel telephoto sensor, while the Camon 19 Pro 5G features an extra 2-megapixel macro sensor.

Price

The TECNO Camon 19 Pro (8GB/128GB) will be selling at a recommended retail price of 165,000 Naira ($275) , while the Camon 19 Pro 5G (8GB/256GB) model will be selling for a 198,000 Naira ($330) .

Which should you go for? Well, this is a no-brainer. The TECNO Camon 19 Pro is the best of this series. For one, it is cheaper than the Camon 19 Pro 5G, and it even offers better specs and features.

After the Tecno Phantom Z occupying the seat for a while, Tecno mobile has finally launched it’s 2015 flagship smartphone the Phantom 5. Unlike with the Phantom Z, there has been totally no hype or mystery about the Phantom 5. With the Phantom Z there were teasers and hype about it being the baddest Tecno phone yet but that hasn’t been the case with the Phantom 5.

That aside, the Phantom 5 comes with a lot of features and specs that are new to Tecno. For instance the Phantom 5 is Tecno’s first 1.5 Ghz 64 bit device. It’s also the first Tecno device to have a fingerprint sensor

Tecno Phantom 5 Specs

For starters, the Tecno Phantom 5 is a 4G LTE device running Android 5.0 lollipop. it’s worth noting that i 64bit octacore 1.5 Ghz device with 3GB or RAM and 32GB or ROM. Finally we also have a 13MP rear camera with a dual flash and most importantly image stabilization and an 8MP front camera.

The Phantom 5 sports a 5.5 inch full HD display ND ONLY 6.8mm thin meaning it’s a little bigger than the Tecno phones you are used to but also slimmer. They also crammed in a 3000 mAh battery to keep you juiced up.

Before we forget, the Tecno Phantom 5 also has a finger print sensor at the back.

Tecno Phantom 5 Price and Availability in Uganda

The Tecno Phantom 5 isn’t yet available in Uganda but has been launched in Nigeria and in Kenya. It’s going for the price of N. 70,000 in Nigeria (About 1,300,000 Ugx) and KES 40,000 in Kenya (about 1,400,000 Ugx). We contacted Tecno Uganda who confirmed that the device will soon arrive into Uganda but couldnt confirm the price at which it will go for. We however speculate that it might go for between Ugx 1,400,000 and 1,600,000
